About Me
First things first, I like to read books that fall in the genres of mystery, fiction, and philosophy.π
Recent reads:
As of January 2024, I have finished 4 fiction and 3 philosophy books:
1. Empire of the Vampires - Jay Kristoff
2. Red Rising (first trilogy)- Pierce Brown
3. Thus spoke Zarathustra- Friedrich Nietzsche
4. Beyond Good and Evil- Friedrich Nietzsche
5. On Genealogy of Morals- Friedrich Nietzsche
Currently, I am reading the Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle. It is a slow read for me as Aristotle tries to explain the concept of Ethics on a deeper, micro level. It has been two weeks and I managed to read hardly 30 pages.
Other than that I enjoy being physically fit and have a proper exercise regime mainly focusing on conditioning training (not gonna lie, I am slacking a bit on that perspective). Recently, I finished having my ankle physio rehab program due to chronic pain I was having, and now, gradually, I am on the way to achieving the goal of running 5k on a treadmill without any pain. My recent achievement is 1k and that is without any ankle pain.π₯³
I am a big-time bathroom singer (Punjabi songs only)πΆπ€ and like to watch series like Game of Thrones, House of Dragons, Brooklyn 99, Big Bang Theory, the Last Kingdom, Peaky Blinders.... the classics.
Academcial Achievements
There were times have these academic achievements I completely enjoyed and adored and there were times I asked myself "What have I got myself into?"
I did my bachelor's degree in Business and Administration from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. Why Business? Ask a young 17-18-year-old boy what do you want to be when you grow up. The answer will be "to be rich and own mansions".
Yet, surprisingly to my interest, that degree gave me insights into the basics of how a business works, what are the concepts, the tenure from the Industrial Revolution till the date, used to create, build, and grow business.
One of the biggest decisions of my life came after Covid-19 which was coming to the UK and acquiring a master's degree in International Business and Management from Liverpool John Moores University.
It was one of the most challenging yet the most exciting times from the academic as well as personal growth paradigm. A few points which can cover the major anecdotes happened to make a long story short:
1. Different education systems, different languages, different values, different cultures, different countries, and different continents. One year degree acquired in one year with such a wonderful, novel experience which cannot be expressed in words.
2. I did not step back, even for one moment, in this given, definite time frame. Instead, I put more effort which got recognised by the university's facility and they decided to take me as one of the 14 students (out of approx. 150 students) to Denmark as part of the curriculum giving us an immersive business experience. (I can talk more about the trip but more on that some other time).
3. The feeling of fulfillment that I received when my name was announced in the event of graduation-ceremony, can only be felt by the people who have, and are going to, achieve the second highest degree in another country.
The valuation of your hard work is always worth it!!
Professional Experience
This journey began right when I was about to finish my college final year.
2018-2019 - I started working as an intern at Avemfly Technology, New Delhi, India selling Home Automation solutions to anyone who was even slightly interested in getting their home automated. Anyone interested, yes! There was a process followed between the two involved companies and the customer. (This should be obvious!! Basic business trick!!)
2019-2021 - In the dark times of Covid-19, I was working as an Associate at Santyna Consulting, New Delhi which was handling the Salesforce CRM service module for Legrand India. I was responsible for the integration, and configuration of customer complaints into the company record.
Along with that, given that Avemfly was part of Santyna Consulting, I executed 2 Home Automation projects when the COVID-19 restrictions were slightly lifted. (Yes that was the most dangerous task I have ever done!)
